George’s Directions – A Journey Through Time
Long before GPS and smartphones, directions were handwritten with care, guiding travelers along winding country roads. This special set of directions, penned by George Foote, holds deep sentimental value for Gail and the farm’s history. Below, you’ll find both a vintage map and George’s original instructions, offering a nostalgic way to find your way to Foote Family Farm—just as it was done in years past.
From Halifax via Highway 101:
Take Exit 14 at Coldbrook ➡ Turn left onto Highway 1 at the traffic light ➡ Follow Highway 1 for 1.8 km to Lovett Road (on the right, just past KFC) ➡ Keep right on Lovett Road and continue for 2.9 km to Brooklyn Street (stop sign) ➡ Turn left onto Brooklyn Street and drive 1.9 km to the next stop sign ➡ Turn right onto North Bishop Road and follow for 2.2 km to the next stop sign ➡ Cross Highway 221 onto Woodville Road and drive 4.1 km—our farm lane will be on the right!
